Final Week Luba Zygarewicz Show at Good Children Gallery

Don’t miss the chance to see the beautiful and thought provoking installations of our customer and friend, Luba Zygarewicz, in New Orleans at Good Children Gallery. Congrats, Luba!

Artist Talk: Saturday, December 4, 3 pm
Gallery Hours: Saturday and Sunday 12-5

Good Children Gallery is excited to present a solo exhibition by Luba Zygarewicz.

"watermark" reflects on the invisible yet indelible imprint that marks our lives. Through a series of sculptural pieces that integrate water as a medium or byproduct, Zygarewicz also examines the imprint embedded in her work as she navigates across a range of materials including the debut of ‘meandering line’, an installation that archives 100 watermarks done as a form of meditation using ink on paper.

It is in the repetition of a mark or the weaving of a line again and again, that the dialogue between material and hand evolves. In that liminal space, the work levitates in search of balance.
If each day was a mark, what would your life look like?

“As water takes whatever shape it is in,
So free may you be about who you become.”

John O’Donohoe

Good Children Gallery is open
Saturday 12 - 5 PM & Sunday 12 - 5 PM.

USE THIS LINK TO APPLY!

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

Call to Artists: Request for Qualifications

for Public Art Installation in Pedestrian Park Project

In partnership with Arts Council New Orleans, the commission will activate

the public space at critical nodes along Convention Center Boulevard.

Deadline is Friday, March 18th

convention center nola.jpg

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center has approved plans to begin a five-year renovation to the 35-year old Convention Center. As part of the $557 million capital improvement plan, the Authority included development of a $75 million, 7.5 acre pedestrian park. The park will span the length of the Center along Convention Center Boulevard, creating a safer and more diverse experience for both visitors and residents.

Arts Council New Orleans has partnered with the Center to invite artists to submit qualifications for a permanent public art installation in the Center's new pedestrian park. This Call for Artists is a Request for Qualifications only. A short-list of artists will be invited from this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to participate in a funded Request for Proposals (RFP) round. The final three commissions will be selected and awarded from the proposing artists.

This call is open to professional artists or artist teams led by a professional artist. Community groups or non-professional artists must submit their application in conjunction with a professional artist who meets the eligibility requirements.

Visit here for more information on requirements and how to apply.

Submission Deadline: Friday, March 18, 2020 at 11:59 pm CST
