HOW A PAINTBRUSH IS LIKE A TOMATO

(OR WHY YOU SHOULD BUY ART SUPPLIES IN PERSON)

When you buy groceries do you squeeze the tomatoes? Sniff the peaches? Change your whole plan for dinner because of a beautiful bunch of collard greens?  Do you like bumping into other people and talking about what you’re cooking?  Do you even like having a connection with the people who grew the vegetables?

If you are nodding, then you understand that choosing the materials we create with is personal and should be a pleasure unto itself.  It should involve other human beings, shared information, lots of hands-on interaction with the merchandise, and ideally some great atmosphere.  And when it’s all said and done, the experience should leave you with a deeper sense of connection to your community.

So please come rub your hands over the brushes, get pastel on your clothes, open up the tubes of paint, and breathe in the uniquely wonderful smell of a real art supply store.  We encourage you to say yes to trolling the internet for ideas, images, recipes, historical data, encyclopedic facts, and ingredient lists.  But when it comes to getting what you need to make your art- keep it real, not virtual.  Come be part of YOUR arts community at Mo’s.
